Brouwersgracht
The conversion of an office within a 15th century listed pack house, in the Joordan district of Amsterdam, into a two-bedroom flat.
The scheme places smaller cellular sleeping and washing spaces and storage within a 'blue-box' to maximize the space and daylight in the living accommodation and to emphasize the distinction between our new insertion and the existing elements of the original building.
New openings were introduced away from the principal elevations to provide as much light as possible without impacting on the historic fabric and street scene.
Budget: £250k
Construction period: 5 months
