Dagenham Green, Plot B

144 new homes in a net zero emission, 19 storey tower, forming the gateway building into Peabody’s Dagenham Green masterplan for 935 homes.

The innovative octagonal floorplate was inspired by industrial remains found on the Ford Stamping plant site before it closed in 2012. The form creates efficient flat plans which respond to each orientation's climatic condition and provide 100% dual aspect homes. The tower is articulated by horizontal brickwork bands, tying together windows and balconies, whilst allowing each elevation's openings to vary in response to solar orientation.

The ground floor podium features green brickwork, created from 100% upcycled content, and contains a concierge, residential amenity space and café.

“It has been a privilege to work with a strong female-led design team on a site that was pivotal to the women’s rights movement and paved the way for the Equal Pay Act over 50 years ago.”
