Coping through Covid
It’s been a challenging year so far, with many of us having to embrace an entirely new way of working and communicating with one another. With no clear end in sight and an assumption that we are now in a new kind of normal, we have been reflecting on how we’ve been able to get through it as a team, and stay connected and inspired by one another, despite not being in the same space.
With virtual meeting fatigue being a common complaint, we have been keen to stay active and outdoors when we can. The PTA run club, which prior to lockdown could be spotted pacing around the parks close to Old Marylebone Road, now covers a much broader geographical area. Our virtual morning yoga classes are also an excellent way to start the working day.
The PTA Cooking Club has provided an excellent opportunity for staff to show off their culinary talents, from homemade sourdough, shakshuka and pasta, to our cookie competition – congratulations Gemma for her winning noughts and crosses masterpiece.
In an attempt to encourage people to look beyond their computer screens, we set various photo challenges. Topics ranged from: 'My new commute', 'It’s not all bad', and 'Business as usual is over, what next?'
The obligatory lockdown quiz has become a regular monthly feature. The most successful rounds being recreations of famous artwork, and iconic movie scenes. Can you guess the examples below?
And finally, many of us wouldn’t have been able to get through this time without our furry assistants for company. A big thank you to all the PTA pets for your continued support!
